Our Policies

According to the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, agriculture employs approximately 29% of Mississippi's workforce, either directly or indirectly. When rapidly increasing agricultural property taxes hurt farmers, those losses aren't transferred to consumers.  Instead, those losses are transferred to our communities.  The businesses that support agriculture suffer, and the economic suffering ripples throughout our local economies. MSPTA's focus is to develop policIES that will limit the existing trajectory of property taxes on agricultural land.  We are evaluating the procedures and the law, meeting with officials and working towards solutions.  We need your help too.  Won't you join us?
